Tonies are designed to put a smile on children’s faces for as long as possible. However, it is unavoidable that Tonies will occasionally reach the end of their life cycle.
We have compiled the key requirements below that must be considered when you dispose of and recycle our products.
Electrical and electronic equipment and batteries and accumulators may contain materials that can cause harm to human health and the environment if not disposed of properly. Packaging, electronic equipment and batteries also contain valuable raw materials that can be recycled in waste management systems. If, however, they are thrown away like normal household waste, they will end up in landfill and these valuable resources will be lost.
As such, in keeping with our responsibility as a manufacturer and provider, we want to provide information about how to dispose of our products properly. This way, we can preserve our planet’s resources together whilst protecting the environment and human health.
How do I know that a device must be disposed of separately?

If you see these crossed-out wheelie bin symbols on your device or battery, it cannot be disposed of in your household waste!
You will find this symbol on the device itself, on the batteries or accessories, on the packaging or in the enclosed documentation.

All electrical and electronic devices have a crossed-out wheelie bin symbol with a black line underneath, showing they must be recycled at special centres and not thrown away with regular waste. Recycle your old devices at your local recycling centre.
Some Tonie products come with a battery. To find out how to remove and replace the battery, please refer to the instructions that came with your products.
If you have any questions about removing or replacing the battery, please contact our support team.

All batteries bear the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol to indicate that they should be disposed of in special recycling centres and not as normal waste. Batteries that contain hazardous substances like mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd) or lead (Pb) are also labelled with their chemical symbol.
The Toniebox you are going to throw away may contain sensitive personal data. Please ensure that you delete your data before disposing of it – all Toniebox owners are responsible for deleting their own data!
