Playdate prep for the summer school holidays

Whether you’re hosting or sending your little ones off to a friend's house, we’ve got the ultimate step-by-step guide to ensure your playdate prep is a smashing success. And guess what? Their Toniebox is here to save the day (and your sanity).

Step 1: Prep your playdate zone

Clear out the breakables, shove the laundry in the cupboard, and make sure there’s enough space for wild imaginations to roam free. Think blanket dens, treasure hunts, and dance-offs! And don’t forget the snacks – kids run on snacks like cars run on fuel.

Step 2: The ultimate playdate playlist

What’s a playdate without a playlist? Enter the Toniebox, our favourite DJ. Pop the brand new Peppa’s First Album Tonie on the Toniebox for a musical extravaganza. Featuring 17 toe-tapping songs straight from the wonderful world of Peppa Pig. It’s the perfect Tonie for kids who love a good song and dance.

If Peppa Pig’s not their jam, then how about the Disney showstopper, the Encanto Tonie? With its catchy and upbeat songs – “We Don’t Talk About Bruno!”? Oh, we bet you do! The kids will be dancing and singing around the house in no time.

Step 3: Activities

Keep those little hands and minds busy! Here are some Toniebox inspired activities to make their playdate the talk of the town:

  1. Musical chairs tonies-style: Use the Toniebox to play some fun tunes – take the Tonie off to pause the music and everyone has to scramble for a seat. Giggles guaranteed.

  2. Tonie talent show: Got a bunch of budding performers? Set up a Tonie talent show! Kids can take turns using their Toniebox to play their favourite songs and perform for each other. Whether they’re belting out Disney classics or showing off their best dance moves, it’s a fantastic way to burn off energy.

  3. Create a story challenge: This one’s a hit for those who love to spin a good yarn. Use a Creative-Tonie and let the kids record their own story. Give them a fun prompt (like “Once upon a time, in a land of talking animals…”) and let each child add a part to the story. Playback their creation on the Toniebox and enjoy the giggles as they listen to their collective masterpiece.

  4. Creative crafting: Grab some Blank Tonies and set up a craft station with supplies for the kids to create their own one-of-a-kind Tonie. Our Blank Tonies come primed and undecorated for kids to customise in their own way. It’s a fantastic way to let their creativity shine.

Step 4: Snack attack

Remember those snacks we talked about? Make them fun and themed! How about Tonie-shaped sandwiches or character-inspired fruit platters? Keep it simple yet fun, and you’ll have a bunch of happy little munchers.

Step 5: Chill time

Let the kids relax with some calming songs and stories on the Toniebox with our new Moshi Tonies. This is where mindfulness from Moshi, the award-winning kids’ sleep and learning app, meets the magic of tonies®. Think calming tales, relaxing meditations and musical tracks. It’s the perfect way to wind down a fantastic playdate and ensure they go home with big smiles (and ready for a nap, fingers crossed!).

Amy’s favourite Tonie is Matilda. From a very young age, she was utterly obsessed with Matilda. She watched and read it so many times that she practically had the whole script memorised. As she grew older, she remained just like Matilda, a bookworm, a trickster, and a dreamer!
